Hershey

Today we had to go out to Hershey for JT's yearly ortho appointment. We got up there early and went over to the outlets. Of course the first thing we did was stop at Kmart to buy a sippy cup, because apparently JT took his out of the diaper bag to take a drink and I had not noticed he did not put it back. We totally lucked out because they had the take and toss cups, nascar design clearance for 40 CENTS! So then we headed over to the outlets. Only had time for Children's place Outlet and the Disney outlet. By then it was 1:30 and time to head over to the doctors. When we got there, we checked in and JT wanted to see the fish, but we had to go back for X-rays first. They made him wear a hospital gown and he HATED it. But finally got over it, thank goodness.
I was realy nervous about the x-rays, JT laying still and not crying like crazy because he had to lay still. I was able to stand next to him and the nurse was taping his feet to keep them straight. Bad idea, JT would not keep his legs down, so she untaped him and held his feet instead. Much better idea. He laid perfectly still and they got a perfect shot of his legs! So the nurse promised him Thomas stickers, so he got those and then we headed out to see the fish. JT was facinated with the fish, the one kept playing peek a boo.
So about 5-10 minutes later they called us back. The doctor knocked on the door and JT said Doctor. But she is actually a Nurse Practioner. JT couldn't say that, so he called her doctor. She meausred his calves, since the one is considerably bigger around than the other, can you believe a 2cm difference! She had him walk a little to see how he walks, she noticed he walks on his toes on his left foot, but heel toe with his right. She checked his left foot for stiffness, but he has a great range of motion. So she looked at his x-ray, and his Femur in his right leg is a half cm longer than the other. Which would make sense about his walking on his toes on his left leg. Other than that everything is perfect. all his bones are perfectly in place, right where they should be. So we go back in a year. If his length difference becomes a half and inch or more, they will put a lift in his shoe. But for now, the difference is ok, lots of people have a half cm difference in their legs.

I saved the trip to Chocolate World for after the doctors appointment.

JT smelling chocolate on the chocolate ride.
After the ride, we went to get him a special treat, he choose reese's pieces.
And I got the best smile around : )
He had said Thank You right after he smiled. it was so sweet.
