Ice Skating

K went ice skating for the first time with her brownie troop. John came as a chaperone, because me on the ice wouldn't have been the greatest idea. K came out on the ice and held the wall. Then they reached a point that cones were up and they could no longer hold the wall. So they were trying to go around and they were standing there and K fell. Right onto her knees, totally the wrong way to fall. So she cried and got off the ice. I did not expect her to go back out. But I let her sit, I had JT with me taking pictures. JT wanted to get on the ice, but that would have been a really bad idea!

Then she wanted Daddy to hold her hands and try again. What do you know, she liked it!

It had gotten too cold for JT, his face was actually turning blue, so we headed to the car to warm up. He was asleep within 5 minutes! John called and said K was on the ice by herself! She can't wait to go back and skate again. Probably next year, since the ice won't be ice too much longer. I am so proud that she tried something new and found out she enjoyed it. So we will try roller skating now. I think she will have fun with that!

  1. When you said ice skating, I thought you meant inside. Outside - brrrr! You are a really dedicated picture taker to stay out in the cold for pictures! Roller skating sounds much nicer.
