We got to use twitter to our advantage about a month ago and learn of a special promo for $15 Six Flags Tickets. So we decided to try Six Flags America, since we have never been. Its in Maryland, so only 2 hours from us. We had originally planned for my parents to go along, but my dad having knee surgery last week, he was unable to go. So my brother went in his place. Which was great for John since he would rather have a fellow coaster fan to go with him. I am far from a coaster fan, the kiddie roller coaster was enough for me, lol.
So other than a few minor annoyances, it ended up being a really fun day. I will speak about the annoyances after the photo's below.
Now onto the pics...
JT went to sleep without his bubba. He was so tired.
I took K and JT on the cyclone. This is our favorite ride, JT's first time on it.
He didn't like it all that much.
The kiddie train saved the day!
JT and I LOVE our ketchup. How perfect was this sign for him.
He was totally worth the wait : )
That is John's feet. My brother right next to him.

Jacob spotted the car ride next to the merry go round, so he was telling the ride
attendant to stop the ride so he could get off and go on cars.
JT was hungry and no one was listening, so he decided to eat daddy!
Tony Hawk half pipe water slide. It looked pretty cool. My brother and John went on twice.
Now onto a few issues I had with our six flags day. I know for most people its not a problem and its cool, every parent has different feelings about the issue. But you are not allowed to bring in food or drinks. They wouldn't even allow a little snack for my toddler. I had a small cooler under the stroller with some apple juice boxes in it, thankfully they didn't check that because they don't sell anything healthy for kids to drink but water. No 100% juice! Well my kids aren't allowed to drink soda (which they don't like anyway), they don't drink sugary juices either. Most of the time we drink water, but it is nice to have some juice once in awhile. Milk wasn't even an option at Johnny Rockets where we ate lunch! I really don't understand, why as society do we keep feeding into why kids are overweight nowadays? Sure its ok once in awhile to splurge, but in our house, we splurge on a snack not drinks. I was just really irked about not offering any healthy alternatives for my kids to drink.
The other annoyance had to do with the train ride. They told us the train would be back in 10 minutes. So we waited with a bunch of others and 10 minutes later the train arrived. But they were not letting anyone on. Then they tell us, the train won't be running again for about an hour during the parade. They couldn't tell us this before we waited 10 minutes. They don't run the train after 5. Well they had watches, they knew the time, why did they not say anything before we waited? This resulted in a disappointed toddler, thankfully I was able to convince his sister to get on the kiddie train with him and all was well. Now onto something I find quite funny. He was too small to ride the kiddie train himself, he needed a responsible companion to ride with him. But the companion had to be under 54 inches! I found that pretty funny, considering another kid who was bigger than 36 inches and under 54 a responsible companion.
So all in all, it was a good day. The park was not crowded at all, which was great for us, but I imagine its not great for amusement parks.
Looks like a fun day! Go twitter for the great deal offer! : )
ReplyDeleteGlad to know we are not the only ones not offering our children soda! I had a relative put soda in their child's baby bottle. YUCK!
I don't really let the kids have soda! once in a blue moon they can. But if it was up to my husband they would have it anytime! my kids really only drink milk and water. juice sometimes! But looks like all in all you guys had a fun day! Loved the pictures thanks for sharing them with us!
